Not only do they have good weiner dogs here, the chicken strips and burgers are just as good. Also excellent service 👍

I stopped by while visiting SLO and was very unsatisfied. I ordered a hot dog and my partner ordered the chili cheese fries. When I got my hot dog, the bread was smashed on one side and the bun was soaked in grease. I kept squeezing grease out while I was eating my hotdog without the bun.

Looks can be deceiving. Nice place but at 5.25 for a hotdog you expect better than a cold stale bun and inexpensive canned chilli, to be fair I will give them another chance and report how it is next time.

Idk why everyone likes this place so much. We got a corn dog and onion rings. Onion rings were undercooked, and the corn dog wasn't horrible, but you're going to charge me $4 for a frozen corn dog? I can get a fresh one dipped in homemade batter at Sylvester's for less than $4. Y'all rude for doing the people of SLO dirty like this.

Great food, friendly staff. They are quick to prepare the food. It gets really busy when the high school is out for lunch, but is still pleasant. The chicken salad is great.

There is nothing to say. These dogs are epic. The Chicago dog is the best dog within a 500 mile radius.

Burgers are tasty and pastrami burgers are too. Onions rings were crispy and tasty , like an old style burger.

We took the 3-year-old in for breakfast but arrived a little late. While much of their breakfast fare is available all day, pancakes are only served early. When we ordered pancakes, the waitress said that it was too late. Upon seeing how disappointed our little girl was though, she went back and asked the chef if he could make one for "the baby."Not only did he honor the request, but he made her 3 "special" shaped pancakes that she really loved.This is the type of friendly "above & beyond" service that we have come to expect from Frank's staff.

I’ve heard a lot about this place and finally had the opportunity to give it a try. I’m hoping my experience was a one time thing, so I may give it another try. The best thing about my visit was the mozzarella sticks which were brought to us after the rest of our food because they were still cooking. The bacon dog I got was cold as was the bun it came in. My wife enjoyed her mushroom chicken sandwich. The fries were good, but got cold fast. I’m giving 3 stars instead of 2 because of the mozzarella sticks and the fact my wife liked her mushroom chicken sandwich.

Chilli cheese dog was ok. Chilli needs more flavor & the hot dog was pretty thin for the large bun. Fries were a little under cooked. Service was great friendly & kind.

Hands down Frank's hot dogs is the best place in SLO for a cheap meal. The bacon chili dog with a side of chili frys and a drink is my go to order. Be warned avoid going at lunchtime during the week because the highschool kids will overrun the place. Always a good meal with a casual and fun atmosphere. Grab a t-shirt and wear it letting the world know that "big weenies are better".

Was a good lunch place on a Monday Was busy but they were still fast.The burger was HUGH and thick patty and baconI really did not like the onion rings is the reason i gave a 4 star.the bathrooms need a little more attention too.the staff he was great cashier the server was ok. little confuse trying to find people

If I could give a half star, I’d give the place 3 1/2 stars. The hot dogs were average and the bacon on it was dry. The french fries were awfully bland no matter what me and my friend tried to put on them.

Best Onion rings in the world..

This is more than just a regular hamburger (hot dog?) joint. Menu is on par with most places in this category, but their hamburger and hot dog offerings are superb. Service is fast and efficient and the atmosphere is very retro. Hot Dawg!!!

Hot dogs good. Chips Good. Grilled cheese sandwich to be avoided at all costs. Tasteless processed cheese. Same effect and possibly tastier option would be to microwave your credit cards between 2 pieces of toast. Also not sure freshly squeezed orange was freshly squeezed or concentrate from bottle. Just go for the dogs

Frank's Famous is a good local eatery with tasty diner or takeout type food.I'm partial to the sauerkraut dog. The hot dog looks and tastes like something fresher than a packaged hot dog (whether it is) and the sauerkraut is tangy.I also think that you can't go wrong with a mini burger, so give that a try too!

I've probably been to Frank's thirty times over the past four years. Frank's is where you go for food that you know you shouldn't be eating, but that tastes fantastic. Their burgers, sandwiches and fried foods are excellent, and if you get there early, their breakfast options are awesome. The staff is always very friendly, wait time for food is small. I've never had a bad time at Frank's.

This place had such delicious food. My husband had the monster burger and it was huge! He loves burgers and was very pleased with his. We shared an order of chili cheese fries and their big so there was plenty for both of us. I had a hot dog with blu cheese crumbles, tomatoes and bacon. They are not stingy with their bacon. I will be returning again.

They have great breakfast burritos. Pretty much enough for two people. Service seemed to be pretty good.

Everyone knows that Frank's has great hot dogs and burgers--but the best kept secret is how great their breakfast is! They may have the best pancakes in town, and the breakfast sandwich is awesome too. My personal favorite is the breakfast burrito, The hash browns are a wonderful little triangle of heaven too.

What a waste of calories and money. I just bought a sauerkraut dog and it was just a cheap hotdog and a cheap hotdog bun with cheap sauerkraut slapped on top of it, so wet the bun literally fell apart in my hands. I’ve had better hotdogs from a street vendor. i’m so disappointed right now I never even leave reviews.

If your reading this to think about a place to eat while in town, stop reading and get over here to start reading the menu to order. This was top knotch. Awesome Dog and this was a small fry! Our little girl Cali dog was in the background sniffing away with all the great smells!!! Well be back! Loved it Franks!!
